The Weapon ID Band offers the peace of mind of definitive weapon ownership to the individual service member and his command. While none of us like to admit it, the stress of serving occasionally leads to the misplacement of a weapon, causing loss in manpower and combat effectiveness during the search for the lost weapon. With the Weapon ID Band, the soldier can be quickly and discretely identified and the weapon returned.
The Weapon ID Band brings a new level of ownership identification to the military. Strong 316 Stainless Steel is Black Oxide coated to military specifications (MIL-DTL-13924D) then laser etched with SERVICE MEMBER NAME, LAST 4 SSN, and UNIT. The Weapon ID Band is secured to the hand guard retaining ring by an innovative clasp and hook locking system that requires no tools to install and will not release even under the harshest combat conditions. The fit is snug and eliminates any rattling when compared to the traditional "dog tag and chain" method of weapon identification. The hand guards can still be removed with the Weapon ID Band in place for cleaning. The hand guard retaining ring is standard across ALL M-16 varients and provides universal fit.
